Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Bayonet and sling question

Are M8A1 and M9 bayonets interchangeable? Or do each fit a specific lug? And will this sling store3.yimg.com/I/cdnn_1657_14120532 work on an m-16 as well? Thanks

The M-7 and M-9 bayonets fit the AR.  The scabbard is stamped M8A1, and fits the M-7 and most previous short bayonets.
The sling is an M1 Garand sling.  It'll work OK.

The M-9 also fits my Steyr Aug and Mini-14 GBF model too. Just an observation.
