Shooting Glasses worth the cash?

I am wondering if you all feel that yellow lenses in a pair of glasses are worth the cash. I do wear prescription glasses and would buy a pair of sunglasses but with yellow lenses. I usually shoot the AR from 200+

While the yellow lens is a good choice for shooting, as it tends to increase contrast, it is a very poor choice for general purposes.
I suggest buying a gray, green, or brown (my fave) colored pair of general purpose sunglasses first, then get the shooting glasses. Your eyes will be better served, and you'll be happier, IMHO.

Ever thought of wearing contacts & then buying non-pres. glasses? Prob. cheaper in the long run & more flexibility for you.

I goy a pair of clear Gargoyles with the prescription inserts. Works very well for me. It's overcast most of time up here anyway and it's cheap insurance against an unexpected mishap.

You really need to have a set of different colored lenses for different conditions in competition, but for general practice for self defence I'm a strong advocate of wearing what you will be wearing if the need arises to shoot in a defensive situation.
