Didn't Savage used to make a 20" Bolt action in .308? It is not on the website is it still available? Is it available in left hand? Cost? Looking for a cheap lefty that I can use until I save up for a custom gun.

I was looking at that as well.  Believe it or not WalMart sells that rifle.  Ask to look at their gun catalog and they can special order it for you.  The 20" barrel is custom job by Savage.

I bought a PSS instead.

Hope this helps

Savage does make a 20" how ever it is not their tac model, I beleive the model you are refering to is the Mod 10FM, it is listed under ultra light on Savages web sight, right below the Savage Scout.

The mod 10FM with it's 20" barrel would be a good budget, short .308 platform for a shooter trying to add a urban tac sniper to his collection, but was unable to spring the $700+ bucks on a Remington 700LTR.

Despite what many will tell you about Savage, rest assured that your Savage is probably more accurate than you are.

I would drop it in a different stock and maybe go with Trijicon's 3x9 tritium illuminated scope, a set of butler creek scope covers and your in business.

For about what it would cost you to buy the base Remmy LTR.

As any woman will tell you, "you just have to know how to accessorize".

I would have to disagree with Fearandloathing37 since I owned a Savage 10FP Tactical w/20" barrel less than 60 days ago.  They do indeed make this gun and you can get them.  I bought it along with a 24" model from Jake @ Northeast Firearms.....www.northeastfirearms.com.  On his website he states that the .308's are out of stock until Feb. I paid $369.00 for my 20" model and his service was excellent.

I have seen 20" barreled 10FPs for sale on auction sites and elsewhere. The 10FLP is the left handed model. I don't believe they're fluted like the Remington LTR is though.

Savage doesn't list the 20" barrel version of the 10FP (or 10FLP) on their web page, but I, too, have seen them available fairly recently.

I own the 10FP in .308 with a 24" barrel. It should cost you something along the lines of $399 NIB. And it's a LOT of gun for the money.
