I'm picking up my first one tonight after work and the anticipation is driving me crazy. I wanna see pics! Post 'em!!!!!

edited to add:  Can anybody give me a link to an online manual for disassembly / assembly instructions?  Or, if it's a fairly simple process, explain how to do it?

Both Springfields.  It's hard to see the ports, but the bottom one is an Ultra Comp V-10.  Both shoot like a dream.

I don't think webshots will allow you to link an image, but the url works if you open it in a separate window.

It's kind of wierd in a good way.  I'm accustomed to the full size 1911, which I find easy to control.  The Ultra Comp, rather than jumping up at the muzzle, kind of just twitches in the hand.

For some reason, I've never compared them side-by-side for second shot follow-up, but I think I just found a reason to go shooting.

Well by all means, go shoot them, have fun while you're at it, and then get back to us.

I kinda had the same idea you did, getting a "baby brother" for my full size 1911-A1.

Here is mine:

This started out as a mil-spec but is under going modifications. It has a *NICE* trigger now (around 3-1/4 to 3-1/2lbs). Next up are the barrel (A Kart w/Briley Spherical Bushing) and sights (MMC adjustable night sights).

I just love 1911's!!!!

It looks like the bastard child of a 1911 and a Browning Hi-Power.

I seem to recall a post on that before.. 1911 with a weird DA trigger.

Here's my Nat'l Match, circa 1965.  Well over 23k rounds through it.  Accurized by Billy Judycki in Marcy NY.  Originally blue, I plated it with bright electroless nickel in a burst of silliness about 1985.

Not real pretty, but it's capable of this:

My frankengun service pistol, tagged on the trigger guard from CMP matches.

And an Officer's ACP.  Officer's models are 50s & 60s revolvers.

This one goes to the occasional IDPA match.  Wish I could make more time for it.

I've never actually gotten confirmation of what this is, but here's the details.

It's an Essex Arms frame, made with the same trigger guard shape as the ODI Viking guns, with a Seecamp-style DA conversion. The plate held down by the right grip panel covers the DA lockwork. Slide is a Colt that has been radiused on three sides, Colt barrel, Novak sights.

I've encountered two other people that owned these, neither with much more info than I had (both Seecamp collectors). It's not a Seecamp-made gun, but it is a Seecamp pattern DA.

The DA trigger pull is fairly light, the SA trigger is as good as any of the Bullseye guns I've owned.

Wish I had more information about it.
