Just curious about what you guys think about higher magnification ACOG's. I've got a 1.5X and am pretty happy with it. But I haven't had any experiance with the 2X or 3X. BTW, I have the triangle reticle.

A conversation on another forum about target detection and scopes got me thinking. Magnification would certainly give you a upper hand. But of course with higher powered scopes will be slower at close range.

My 1.5X at least provides some magnification, and is VERY fast at close range.

But is it the best comprimise for situations between 0 and 300 meters? Would bumping up to the 2X or 3X be worth it? Or should I stick with my 1.5X?

Any thoughts appreciated.

IMHO for CQB 1x is fastest, for the designated marksmen role is 3x to 5x, above that for snipers.

I went with the highest compact ACOG of 3x.
