I just bought a bayonet for my Pre Ban ar15.  There is a hole on the knife that slips over the flash suppressor and down onto the barrel.  When it is attached its very loose on the barrel.  Is the hole on the bayonet supposed to be around the flash suppressor where it holds itself in place much better.

Thanks

A bayonet will only fit correctly on 14.5" and 20" barrels. You got a 16 incher I'm guessing?

Two ways to make it fit a 16in barrel
1) get one of those clamp on lugs
2) got on of those fake XM177 flash hiders that slips over the barrel.
