1. Remove receiver cover.
2. Remove spring 3. Remove bolt and carrier 4. On the right side of the rear sight, there is a pivot bar. Slide it upwards. This allows you to pull on the upper handguard, and remove the upper handguard/gas tube as one unit. 5. The gas piston is in the hadguard/tube unit. It falls right out. |

I'm trying to remember....disassemble to the point of taking the bolt out, then...I can't remember.....damn! Photoshop huh?...I might challenge that...I do use it for a living you know. |

On the side of the rear sight is a pivoting lever. Pivot it up. Wiggle the gas tube off. If you pivot the takedown lever too far, a plunger powered by a spring will jump out from under the rear sight and attempt to chip one of your teeth, or even poke your eye out.
