[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Carry handle as scope mount.. Viable option?

I was thinking of getting a dot sight of some kind and was wondering how well mounting to the carry handle works. Is it a secure place to mount? I see cheap a$$ carry handle mounts all over the place but who makes good quality ones?

Simple...ARMS mounts. now the question is, do you want it mounted on top of the carry handle (Arms #2 mount) or in front of the carry handle (arms #39 mount)

Come on, 4wheelingunner, which of the two mounts are you going to pick and which red dot. I can't stand the suspense. I am working on the same project for a 20" Colt preban.

I think he should use a forward mount with a comp M Aimpoint.
