Hands down the finest FAL rifles ever produced, anywhere, any time. As for the post above, he's talking about Austrian STG-58 kit guns that DSA sells. For a factory fresh gun, DSA's SA-58 line is the best of the best. Better than FN, better than everyone else. For kit guns, the DSA STG's are hands down the best of their class too. |

The best place I have seen to get started with a first FAL is from FAC (Federal Arms Corp) www.gunsnstuff.net
They have a Imbel STG-58 Century rifle for $550. The also carry the DSA STG-58A (very nice FAL) for $795 DSArms (DSA) arguably makes the best FAL's. Check them out at www.dsarms.com Best site for FAL's is www.l1a1.com/cgi-bin/forums/ultimatebb.cgi Learn there, buy from FAC. |

Yep, they did, and I got one of their last IMBEL receiver models. All they have now is Century made receiver models, and I have heard that those receivers are crap. |

4 W. Gunner, first please define if you want a real FAL which is Belgium and is in the $2,000.
range. If you want a sort of "American" version look no further than M4's recommendation. The DS Arms receiver's are actually closer to spec than the Belgium guns. |

I believe the Australian FAL's were made to last
and be rebuilt. Thr Belgian guns next, and the South American ones the least. A good friend of mine used to manufacture receivers and he told me the South American steel was inferior to the rest, or at least the heat treating was. I would definetly concur what M4 said and buy the DSA. John |

Whats the difference between a Type-1 and Type-2 upper reciever? |

The receivers differ by the lightening cuts
on the sides. a minor issue, since they are parts guns anyway. The Imbel is a type 3 with no cuts. If you look closely at the outside of the magazine well, you can see the cuts. John |

I think hands down the Austrian kits are the choicest ones to be found. That is what DSA is using on their kit rifles. I would compare favorably an Imbel receiver to any other receiver on the market. But yeah, buy the DSA rifle, best value/price. |
