Are they good for quick target acquisition? Or the abillity to lock in on a target "Quickly" from a non-shouldered position.

Yes they are good for target acquisition. Never tried mine from anything other than shoulder.

I mean from a weapon ready position, you know the place you are at when you raise it to your shoulder.

I have noticed that the "triangle" moves around the target as I move my line of sight.  Therefore, while at close range it would still be ok, it would depend on where the hell you were in relation to the sight while looking through it.  The triangle moves.

At any target of distance (hell, and close range) I always shoulder my weapon and sight it consistently.  Why would you sight a weapon that's not shouldered?

The Reflex II 12.5 MOA triangle is very fast as far as target acquisition.
