Picked up a 516ss in 243 when they first came out for 359.00. Set it up with a Burris 3x9 AO and Harris BR bipod. 3/8 to 1/2 (3 shots @ 100)are common with handloads. Has 8 whitetail and over 100 chucks to its credit.
Dont care for the thumbhole stock that comes on the new ones.(or the brake for that matter) It looks pretty but dont work half as well as the old black stock. Not much for your left hand to grab on to which promotes poor trigger control. Check out both and you'll see what I mean. |

I mounted a bi-pod on mine it provides a good forward hold
