Ok, did a little research using a couple quick sources. I have not reloaded Pistol/rifle rounds yet. I have just done shotgun up to now, so I dont know just how far the powder will go, maybe some of the other reloaders can speak up.
Starline brass, new, 1000 rnds for $235
Bullets, 1000 rnds for $125
Primers, 5000 rnds for $94
Powder, 8lb keg $130
this totals $584 or 58.4 cents a round.
Now remember, you can get more then one use out of brass, lets say you can get three uses out of your brass since it was new when you bought it. you already have 5000 primers, all you need to buy is more bullets and powder (affraid I dont know how far a 8lb keg of powder will go, maybe it wont do 1000rnds, maybe it will do more) these two items will run $255 for second round of loading and again another $255 for a third round. So you have just spent $1094 to reload appr. 3000 rounds, this breaks down to 36.5 cents a round.
OK if you order it from Ammoman, it will run you $170 for 200rnds, or $850 for 1000 rnds, this is 85 cents a round.
So if you reload you can get about 3000 rnds for what it would cost you to order about 1200 rnds from ammoman.
ordering supplies in smaller amount will raise the cost a little, but it is still cheaper in the long run.
