What kind of accuracy are you owners of this rifle getting?

Using a non magnified Aimpoint, I can get 1.5" groups with my BM 16" Shorty (not a V Match)
I get under 1" with my scoped 20" V Match.
Above at 100 yds using Fed. American Eagle 50 gr HP an inexpensive and consistent loading but not considered a TOP rated target round.

Yeah, I can get about the same out of mine (V-match carbine). 1" at 100 yards is no problem even using Q3131A Win USA ball ammo. I'm actually going to modify my rifle with a bipod, long range scope, pistol grip and Jewel trigger over Christmas. That ought to help it out some more. The standard trigger is a dreadful 7 lb pull. Don't get Bushmaster's target trigger, cause I heard it's bad. Get a Jewel trigger. Talk to the guys over on the competition forum, that's what they told me this past summer when I enquired about it.

Eh, I wouldn't advise of shooting Wolf out of an AR. Everyone on this forum pretty much is against it. Wolf seems to work better in AKs and mil-spec ARs, not a target rifle. Point is, I'd stick to IMI ball, bare minimum. Black Hills is my personal favorite. As far as the speed out of 16" barrel goes, try about 2850-2900 fps depending on the load. 20-24 in will get you 3000-3200 fps.

I get a little over 1 MOA at 100 yards shooting either Q3131A or USGI Lake City M193.

16 Bushmaster Vmatch
Scope - Leupold 1.5-5X20 Vari X III

I bet I could do better if I used sand bags or a bench rest instead of using my range bag for the front and my fist underneath the buttstock.

E-mail me a reminder and I can send you a list of velocities of different ammos in different lengths of barrels  I'm at work and the list is at home so I might forget when I get home.

thanks for the reply ,the bushy V match is a mil-spec AR except for free float hang guard and milled front sight .the Vmatch 16 and the 16 shorty have same barrels.

Can you get a V-match (or any other flattop Bushmaster) with a picatinny gas block (similar to ArmaLite's?  I'd like to get a flattop upper or two, but I want to be able to use a scope or reflex sight w/o having the front sight darken the view.  (probably end up getting flip-up sights for backups)

I finally took the time to chrono different barrels for each length that I have and some different ammo just to see what the results would be. No real surprises.
Chronograph,
Oehler Model 35 w/ 3 screens
distance 10'
10 shots each barrel with each make of ammo

85 degrees
40% humidity (approx.)
1290' above msl

Barrels,
20" Colt 1/7 Govt.
16" Colt 1/9 lightweight
14.5" Colt 1/7 M4
11.5" Colt 1/7 commando
10.25" Colt 1/9 lightweight (16" cut down)

Lake City M193 1997
20" - 3255 fps
16" - 3145 fps
14.5" - 3075 fps
11.5" - 2884 fps
10.25 - 2767 fps

Q3131A 1999 Lot PF20
20" - 3152 fps
16" - 3051 fps
14.5" - 2951 fps
11.5" - 2732 fps
10.25" - 2605 fps

IMI M193
20" - 3131 fps
16" - 3032 fps
14.5" - 2917 fps
11.5" - 2726 fps
10.25" - 2598 fps

Rem UMC
20" - 3122 fps
16" - 3001 fps
14.5" - 2878 fps
11.5" - 2705 fps
10.25" - 2499 fps

No misfires, ftf's, chambering, or extraction/ejection problems.

Individual results may vary. I have done a few barrels at other times when it was colder (55 degrees and 70 degrees) and the Lake City was closer to the others in velocity. It seems like I read somewhere that the powder used is more temperature sensitive? I thought about doing some Lake City M855 but didn't think I would have time. Might try that next time.
