They're still available, just not being imported any longer. Don't expect to find the $249 shipped price that I paid for my SAR-2s any longer. 5.45x39 (IMHO) is an interesting caliber, sort of the Russian version of the 5.56 and the long (nearly 1") bullet w/airpocket yaws very fast on impact and the core slides assymetrically into the airpocket causing a radical change in the bullet's path (unscientific observation: I hit a gallon water jug high center at 50m and the bullet exited low left after shredding the jug). Keep looking but expect to pay around $350 for one now. HTH...

Good luck finding an SAR-2.

If you still would like an SAR-1, these guys have the best prices I have been able to find on the internet.  Haven't dealt with them so I cannot say how their business practices.

Looked at a few of my bookmarked sites, and didn't see any sar-2's, but found sar-1's for $329 at www.jgsales.com.
