I have a Bushmaster, which is a great rifle.  The trigger has always seemed a little stout to me, but I did not expect it to be this heavy.  No wonder I have been gasping for breath before getting the shot off!

I mostly shoot at targets and plink with this rifle, but it is my armchair commando/SHTF/tin-foil hat rifle too.  This is not a match rifle.  So I want to improve the trigger pull, but still have something that is absolutely reliable and durable.  I am not wedded to either single or double stage triggers.

Looking back over old posts, my first impression is that the Accuracy Speaks single stage or Armalite double stage might be the way to go.  Are there better options?  I would sure appreciate some input.

Thanks guys.

If all you want to do is lighten it up a bit, you could bend up the legs of the trigger spring.  Or even cut one off.

I think even a BROOMSTICK would be an improvement!

Wow...9lbs. sure is heavy.  Better make sure everything is clean and working in there...sheesh.
