Do chromed lined barrels need to be broken in like steel barrels?  Or can you just clean them up and go to the range and blast away?

Neither barrel has to be broken in.

Benchrest shooters break their $500 barrels in on their $2000 rifles to try to get that last 1/16" of an inch out of them. The benchrest shooters I know would sell their right nut for another 1/8" of an inch .

You've got it right. Give the barrel a good cleaning, lubricate the rifle and have at it.
