I just purchased a bushmaster 20" and shot it for the first time few days ago.
I noticed that the spring buffer was really loud. Is there an incorrect way to load the spring? Or is this noise really loud because the gun is brand new. Anyway, I love the thing and am really liking the y comp as well.
Any idea's on a good DOT scope?

the boioioing will cease.

I greased mine with TetraGrease and it is now silent.

Second on the Tetra grease. In a way, though, I kind of like the sound. Reminds me of the screen doors of my youth.

lol!  The "Boing" is normal.  Some people say grease the spring, others say, "Just get used to it."  It freaked me out when I finally noticed it (My second time at the range) because it was the first time I brokedown and cleaned the rifle.  I thought for sure I messed up something.

I find it comforting.

Some say that they can tell if they have some problems by the sound of the buffer spring.  But it doesn't bother me at all.

What really bothers me is that the neighbors always call the cops when they hear the buffer spring.

I actually use the boing to let me know when the mag is empty (or I've had a jam when plinking with crap ammo).

I just saw where somebody makes a new spring and it said it iliminates the noise.

Was that Oly?

I greased mine one time not too long ago with red lithium axle grease cause I ran out of Tetra.  I was in a hurry and dunked the whole damn spring into the 5 gal bucket, packing it full of grease.  Biggest fuckin mistake I ever made.  Turned it into a short cycling nightmare.

Pow! (Pull out jammed round) Pow! (Pull out jammed round) Pow! (Pull out jammed round)

It took me forever and a week to get that gunk out of my buffer and off of the spring.

Oly makes a little piston style buffer deal.  Don't know if it's any good, but it looks nifty!

Go look at their buffer recoil tube for $22.00. Don't look at anything else or you'll spend a whole lot more money.  Built to last, removes the "boingy" noise

LMAO!!!

I guess I didn't realize how much I rely on the boing either.
