Few have been sold.  That means that people voting with their dollars are not voting for the SL8.

Although the gun is decent for what it is, most people who would spend that much money refuse to do so on a configuration-crippled rifle.

The thumbhole stock is horrible, you are limited to single-stack 10-round mags, and the rifle isn't any more accurate than a much more function AR15 in that price range.  Other than the HK logo, the SL8 has few advantages.

Now, if we could get semi-auto G36s, that would be something else entirely.
