Is this possible? I've heard some say it is dangerous and some say it was ok. If you are using the same bolt on uppers in similar condition does it increase wear?

Thanks,
ARben

Exactly - increases wear.  Not dangerous, but increases wear.

Tate is correct.  Just like any US military rifle, the parts are made to interchange so they can be built/repaired in the field.  The only thing to consider is the wear on the bolt.

what type of wear would occur? if I was going to shoot either one upper or the other, would it make that much of a difference?
