can anyone tell me the difference between a winchester 670 and their model 70?  I can't find any info anywhere else. Thanks.

If memory serves the 670 was merely a lower cost version of the 70.  Hardwood stock instead of walnut.  Blueing not as nice.

Mechanically the same.  Differences were cosmetic.
