Didn't do much for me, either buy the Savage or the Springfield. Or even cheaper, a sporterized SMLE.

lightweight and with a cold hammer forged barrel

I would take a sporterized no 4 SMLE any day over this easier to find mags, and lighter

I will admit if they put these out with a syntehtic staock at around 6-6.5 lbs and a double stack mag I would be doing a back flip.

I like it but would not pay much more than 600 for it...

Everything cool about it is useless since it is a bolt action.

Now, if it was a Mini 308 ...

expensive proprietary mags, shoulda put a rail all the way over the receiver for standard scope options, no way to top off, laminate stock is the only option which is contradictory to a lightweight scout rifle idea, really expensive, Ruger doesn't have the same accuracy reputation as remington, new savages, tikkas, etc.

MSRP is $1k

maybe for $500

A mini 308 is called an m1a the mini 14 and min30s are scaled down m1a designs tweaked to be more production friendly.

not to sure about the 16.50 inch barrel on a 308, i like a 20 inch myself.

they are selling for $700 or a little over on gunbroker........accuracy should be good from a cold hammer forged barrel......well and the idiot behind it pulling the trigger helps as well lol :)

And probably a Rugerized trigger to make sure that you can't hit anything reasonable.

If you could have a can to screw on there, you would be liking it better.  I'll be getting one.

A little bit.  If these can be had for around $700, then Ruger will probably do well.

Now I would be interested in an XGI in .308.  But not at auction prices.
