I have two DPMS stripped receivers. They were logged out of the FFL books as receivers. When they called in for the background check the FFL said "receiver" not rifle, or pistol.

Is it legal to build this receiver into a pistol, with a 10.5" barrel?  Would all I need is the upper, lower parts kit, and the buffer tube/spring?
