Are any of you guys into machining and designing firearm accessories for a hobby?

If so, anybody want to share some cad files?

Currently i'm working on a new front sight rail. All of them that i've seen have a rail on both sides, or a sling swivel on one side. To save weight, I'm hoping to machine a new one out of aluminum rather than steel, and to use a minimal amount of material on the left side.

My other project is going to be making a light rail for an 870 that attaches to the mag tube. I know somebody here was working on that a while ago.

I remember seeing some mil-spec standards for various firearms, specifically for pictanny rails. Anybody have access to those?

Thanks!
