Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - shooting 5.56 in a 223

I recently bought a stainless steel new england arms single shot in 223 remington. I also have about 600 rounds of M193 ball from when my dad had a mini-14. Will it hurt my new gun? I can't remember where I heard that shooting 5.56 in a commercial gun might damage it. I Hope not!

My NEF rifle came with paperwork warning against using 5.56 in their .223 chambered rifles.
