Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Cleaning old bolt guns

I'm curious how you clean your old bolt guns. I have a Enfield SMLE and I'm wondering what parts need oil and all that kind of good stuff. Do you clean them just like modern bolt guns? Or are there special considerations given the age and make of the rifle?

Ease of accessability would be the criteria I use. My Swedish Mauser, for example. I can strip the bolt pretty easily & clean it & oil it. Some bolts may not be so easy.

My theory is, if it's got metal it needs to be cleaned & oiled once in a while.
