If companies can bring in Yugo kits, PK machinegun kits, etc, etc, why the hell has someone not brought in a container of Valmet mags, Galil 308, and Yugo 308 mags?!

Probably because nobaody makes them anymore.. Maybee the Yugo .308 mags, but the Galil, and Valmet are not being produced, so I doubt the mags are either..

Correct.. You will actually find Finns looking for Valmet mags in the USA!

Another reason,

.308 Galil's and Yugos were not used as much as HK G3s or FN FALs. So there is a small supply of surplus mags.

The same problem is here in the U.S. More shooters here own a HK91 or FAL than a Galil or Yugo, also thanks to the clones there is more demand for G3 or FAL mags thanks to DSA, Cetmes and PTR-91s.

So the demand is to import mags.....for guns in demand.

aha - but isn't Israel still making the 308 Galil sniper?  And I've seen Galil 223 mags that are marked LEO so I'm guessing that those are new Israeli made mags too.

The 7.62x51 Galil was a minority in Israel, primarily serving as the basis for the Galatz to be used as a DMR type weapon, in addition to M21's and DMR M16's. The largest number of 7.62 NATO Galils were exported to South America where they were used by several militaries and paramilitary organizations. Some of these countries are still using this weapon which would make componets like magazines necessary to provide and probably indigenously manufacture. IMI no longer produces 7.62x51 Galils and 5.56 Galils are still produced, though in small numbers and mostly in the SAR and Micro form, if not exclusively. The reason you have seen LEO marked Galil magazines is that Dealer Sample Galils and department owned Galils exist in the United States and "shorty" Galils are still in use by the IDF in reduced numbers. Going to South America would be your best bet to get 7.62 Galil magazines, most likely Columbia. Next time you are buying blow you could ask your dealer to get you some 25 round Galil mags too. There are also restrictions upon importing magazines, as they could be determined to be machine gun parts which may or may not be importible without permits. Fly to Columbia or Equador and locate a couple crates of domestically produced Galil magazines and bring them back. If you can do it without getting kidnapped, you would make some $$$.
