Perhaps I'm not as up on stuff as I thought, but somewhere on the board someone posted that .38/.357 ammo could be used in a levergun chambered for .30-30.  I didn't know that, and won't believe it until someone verifiies it.

Must have been a typo or a whacked out guy or something, because that is not the case. If you could get it in the chamber and fire it, you would probably live to regret it, although I can't guarantee that.

Hmm,

.30-30 bore diameter = .308 inches

.38/.357 mag bore diameter = .357 inches

My theory is .38/.357 ammo + .30-30 rifle = accident waiting to happen.

Tell you what - you try it and tell us what happened (if you can still type)!

You can fire .32 acp in a .30-30 using an MCA chamber adapter.

Maybe they were saying that a certain lever gun, normally chambered in 30-30 ... is also available from the factory chambered to fire 357/38 ? in other words they look just alike, but one rifle is chambered for 30-30 and the other is chambered for 357/38. Two different models based on the same exterior design.
