The damn key snapped off in the safety and is stuck in there and I'm supposed to go shooting tomorrow!

I do have a regular safety to replace it with, but I can't get the old one outta there. THe spring that is in here:


is jammed in there and won't budge. Does it matter what position the safety is in to remove that spring? Meaning if the safety needs to be disengaged in order to remove it, I'm in a bit of trouble I think. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.


ETA: I got it. once I worked that spring out of there with tweezers, the safety fell right out. It is now replaced with a normal safety! I'm just glad I had the right spares on hand to replace with.
