I have a couple of AR recievers that I want to strip and redo the finish on both either in a matte finish or plain black before I build them out. Does anyone know how to do a refinish and if so can you help out. Thank you ahead of time...

The Lauer DuraCoat product is just an inferior product to the moly based finished like GunKote and Norells.  DuraCoat is nothing but a relabled PAINT.  Its main benefit is it can be applied to the soft non heatable parts of a rifle like plastic stocks and grips.  If its just the aluminum use a GunKote type product.  They are harder, more temperature resistant, and go on thinner. Wanna do a sniper stock made of polymer? Use DuraCoat.
