I know that there are golden rods but are there any better alternatives?

Don't forget to put a seal on the door to keep the safe from "breathing" in moist air.

I've had a safe in the garage for over 10 years & use a golden rod & a flourescent light fixture. Never had the humidity go over 50% even when the humidity in the garage is over 90% & the water is running down the sides of the safe.
