Hi, I need to do a field strip on my dad's 43 underwood carbine for some preventive maintence and need some online info on how to do it right. Thanks a lot.

First up, this one has complete instructions INCLUDING a online VIDEO of disassembly:

"The M1 Carbine Owner's Guide" by Scott Duff.
Order it from Fulton Armory.
I have one - truely an indispensible guide.
