What's the opinion on "Stag Arms" lower receivers?

They appear forged and of decent quality.

They're made by CMT. They are a top quality forging. I bought one last spring and it went together beautifully. I'll be buying more this spring.

Aside from the Deer Logo, I love mine.  They are all well made.

I've heard nothing but good about them...except for the logo!

Since I don't care what the logo is, if I were building an AR I wouldn't think twice about using one of these receivers!

Just finished number 3, used Bushmaster internals, all went together super.  No problems.  Will use again.   ALLONS11

Saw some stripped lowers at a gun show in Houston yesterday for $100.

You can maybe beat that if you are willing to do a lot of looking.

Stupid Deer!
I have seen Armeetec, Spikes Tactical lowers around the same price with a better looking Icon if that sort of thing matters to you.

I wish they would go back to the old CMT  Rollmark and dump the deer

I think Stag is poor quality, I dislike the ruff finish, the machine marks are ruff, and the engraving looks second rate.  There is a reason they are the "cheapest", you get what you pay for.

Thats what I just bought!

I have several.  If you don't like the Deer check out Denny's GTS lowers.

I love it.
I got a Stag lower I built with Bushmaster parts and mated to a FN upper.  The only draw back was that the rear portion over the Selector Lever is a "high shelf" model and it won't accept an Accu-Wedge, but that doesn't keep it from shooting straight.

ETA - THE DEER LOGO KICKS BUTT!!!!

I've built six Stags so far using DPMS internals and Bushmaster Uppers. I did a Stag for my neighbor and he bought a kit from Model 1 Sales. Had to hand fit the parts from Model 1 Sales, but the DPMS and Bushmaster slipped right in with no fitting.

I like Stag receivers and I like the Deer on the side
