Hope this isn't a dupe.

What is the best round for the greatest accuracy from a 1/12 TWIST 22 "  barrel.

I just made a trade for an NEF handi rifle in .223 with that twist rate and would like to know before buying anything special.

40-55 grain would be the range I'd look into

So a lower weight would be better than say a TAP round?

ETA: I'm trying for groundhog at 100-150 yards

1 in 12 twist is for light bullets, that is why the M16 basic has that twist rate as it is meant for 55 grain bullets and the A2 has a 1 in 7 twist for the 62 grain M855 round.

some 40 or 50 grain hornady Vmax bullets loaded with a healthy dose of AA2230 or AA2520 would be pretty good on groundhogs.

and TAP rounds suffer from the "tactical" markup problem.  they arent worth the money as they are nothing more than a Amax or Vmax (cant remember which off hand)bullet that has been moly coated.

My DR 200 is a 1-12 and it seems quite happy with 55 gr , but
it doesn't gag on 62gr either .  I don't get to shoot
past 100m in really cold conditions with it too often
but when I do . I never saw any keyholes or off the
paper flyers

I'd try the black hills and see what happens, should be fine.  if its a heavier round(over 55 grains) you may see some accuracy issues at longer ranges
