Anyone have experience with the 1970's production 8mm mauser ammo?  I'm thinking about buying some.  I have some 1950's yugo, and its top notch stuff.  Is this romanian good too?  Sportsmans guide claims theirs is non-corrosive, is that true?

It's good stuff. I'd get as much as possible. I think it is MILDLY corrosive, but it's good to clean all surplus as if it were corrosive.

It is corrosive.  Clean accordingly.  Several people have also commented on it's odor and it is supposedly dirtier.  It is good stuff.  I got  bunch of it.

I burn about average of 100,000 rnds of 8mm every year with 2 beltfed brownings and have to say the romanian is the best. It has a smell and is corrosive but not near as bad as turk, greek, and so on. Get lots of it and shoot the hell out of it.

Good stuff.  I bought 2 cases (4 tins) when I bought my first mauser.  I still have almost 2 tins left, and a sore shoulder.

Is this the stuff AIM Surplus has on it's site ? It looks like AMMOMAN is out of the Romanian 8mm.
