Picked up the Spanish CETME for $319 and just evilized it and added new Tapco wood (original wood was beat up).  Works flawless.

Picked up an Imbel FAL carbine from a private seller for $625.  Shoots great.

Have had my DPMS AP4 .308 for a few months now, shoots great.

Picked up a Kreb's KTR-03S this week, hope to take it to the range soon.

Sorry for the dark pics.

Not now.  They used to do Saiga .308 conversions to M14 mags.

WRONG.

I figured out why they won't do the conversions anymore, its cause teh greedy bastards have just put a 308 (finally) in their catalogue....

no M14 mag conversions MY ASS.

To say I was incensed when I saw this, after ofering them ALOT of money and all the time they needed for this only to be told that QUOTE it couldn't be done QUOTE it's not feasible QUOTE we do not work with 308 - and then they put this on their site for a measly 1700$, I asked them should I buy a vepr or saiga and they said they couldn't work with either.  I said I've seen krebs 308 AK conversions, they said they don't do them anymore.

yada yada...

It'll be a loooong time before I buy a krebs product....

Yes, that .308 has been on their website for a number of months now.  I'm not sure if it is one of their "production" guns or just a one-off that they need to sell like some of the other guns listed on their site.  That is why I didn't include it as one of their "production" .308's.  I think it must be a one-off because there haven't been .308 VEPR's in stock at Robarms for months now.

Also, I wonder what that 23" barrel is from, because VEPR's never came to the U.S. with a 23" barrel and neither did Saigas or Yugo .308 AK's.  Makes you wonder.

Allright I've calmed down now.  I like em, but its just not fair that the mag conversion CAN be done, but they WONT do it.  And their excuse of 'we can't do it with 100% functionality guaranteed' is negated by the rifle above.  They are good people there and wouldn't sell a faulty product, which means it must work.

SSHHH be careful where you say that. The guy who spent $2500 on a Valmet might hear you.  I've been eyeballing the Valmets for awhile now and there just isn't very many deals out there. To bad you can't get the Krebs in 5.56.

Yes, standard G3/HK91 slim and wide forearms work with very little trimming as well as the buttstocks with no mods.

No, it would be better if I didn't want a real Valmet so bad.  Can't beat the difference in price between a $3000 7.62x39 Valmet and a KTR-03S for $999.

Excuse my cetme ignorance, but arent they basically the same thing as g3/hk91's also?

No, there are small differences such as the furniture, triple frame, sights, etc.

The only 308 mag conversions Krebs ever did was to 308 Galil mags. They might've tried M14 mags but never got it to work. Now that Galil 308 mags over 12rds are next to impossible to find, I really can't see them doing much in 308.
