Not to mention you might concievably have some legal problems lurking.
A lot of SKSs were imported as Curios and Relics. One of the quirks about these guns is that very little, if anything can be changed from the way it was imported and certified as a C+R rifle.
Thus, it is possible that your 5-rd mag makes your gun
illegal unless and until you install a certain number of domestically produced compliance parts. Said parts are not easy to come by for the SKS, IIRC.
My advice is to install the mag that the SKS was meant to have, and use stripper clips when loading. With a little practice, you will be able to load 10 rds faster than 5 because they will be on stripper clips, not loose.
