I just got a really nice 6.5x55 sporterized mauser its really nice and accurate like no other. Now I just cant figure out what kinda ammo I will want to shoot out of it for deer. I will be shooting out to a maximum distance of 250 yards I will probably try to get a shot at one 100-200 yards away. I want something thats going to have the accuracy and punch.

Thanks
Justin

Most commercial ammo will most likely be similiar to performance, IMO. Federal, Remington, etc. probably won't have too much spread in velocity. About your only options may be bullet type, i.e. Ballastic Point, soft point, etc.

I have a Swiss Mauser in 6.5x55 but I only shoot FMJ in it so I don't have to think or plan too much for it.

I'll check my catalogs when I get home & see what they may say?

Adding: Looks like Remington only offers a Core-Lokt Soft Point @ 125gr @ 2,353 fps @ 100 yards. Might want to find several brands & see what your guns likes best?
