Here's my attempt at one.  Actually, I built it to hunt with.  Even with the suppressor, it is much shorter/lighter than my 18-inch barreled Rem 700 is w/o the can.  Here's the specs:  G2 Contender Carbine with 16.5 inch Shilen SS Barrel in .300 Whisper (1X8 twist barrel by SSK).  I did the stocks with Brownell's spray grit and matte black alumahydeII.  Barrel is coated in matte black.  Advanced Armament Cyclone suppressor, Leupold 3.5X10X50 Illuminated MilDot scope in PRW rings on a Warne base and an Eagle cheekpiece/ammo holder.  This rifle shoots my subsonic load (220 grain Sierra ProHunter RN bullets on top of 9.1 grains of H110 lit by a CCI small rifle BR primer) into better than 1 inch groups at 100yds.  So how'd I do?

I've thought about doing exactly the same thing with my Encore. Can you give us an idea about the relative noise level of your suppressed subsonic loads?

Thanks for posting the picture as well.

While I have not metered this rifle, it is impressively quiet.  To put it in perspective, it is as quiet or quieter than the TTI Armory and EBR Subsonic .308 ammo I have shot through my bolt gun.  People tend to just laugh at the range when I touch one off and the sound of the bullet punching the cardboard at 100 yards is LOUDER than the shot itself.

Thanks for the positive comments on my rig.  I am pleased with how it turned out

Dude, that is awesome!  I didn't even know that was possible.

Is it legal to hunt with suppressors there

Ah, the sound of falling plates!  And at 200 and 300 yards even.
