Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 16 inch barrels

So i'm looking at two Ar15 barrels one is 16in CAR and one is 16in mid length. Looks like the only difference is where the gas block goes. I guess you can put a longer front grip on a Mid length. Whats the benifit to that? Does anyone have a side by side picture?

Mid length looks better (I don't have pics) functions smoother and has a better sight radius.
