Niiiiiiiccceee!!
Those Automags sure have a sleek, graceful look about them. I've always liked them too. Congrats!! |
I think the rifle I would pick up if I had the cash would be a HK93. To me they just look awesome.
Same here, I get sick of riding the BUS |
... dang, and I was looking to put some rounds down range in that shweeet pistol |
Oh, don't worry, we'll definitely throw some valas downrange!!! Just as soon as I get a set of dies and some starline brass and a new set of Wolf Springs, Eagle grips, some loading data and a monkey on a string ( for a target ). Guys, some neat selections....I like the Accuracy International Arctic....that sounds SWEEET!!!!! I've always loved the AI guns...they are sooooo beautiful. |

I'd like to have a gyrojet, just for the looks I'd get at the range when I shot it.
So did I, until I shot one. Now I really want one. |
+1, this would do it for me too!! |
...! |

Me too!!!! |
The one I wanted was an H&R model 999.
Top break 9 shot 22LR. My grandfather had one and it was the first gun I shot. Once he passed my uncle took it. One came in the shop last year and I got it. Now I have a couple new wants: Shooter Luger Tommy gun |
I want the 1911 that my good friend Mac carried while in Europe. He landed on Omaha Beach with the 29th. About twice a year he asks me to tear it down and give it a good clean/lube. Hasn't been shot sine 1945 though...it is in excellent condition. I would also like to have the K98 that the sniper carried who shot him. He gave the K98 to his nephew. The stock is unfinished. He was shot through the stomach right at the end of the war. He has some incredible stories. |
The gun I've always wanted? I'd say it has to be my Shrike I have on order. It seems its the only one I've wanted that I haven't been able to get "instant gratification". I gotta wait! Some day...Sooommm Day!
I've always wanted an HK-91. I just can't afford the damn thing. I picked up a CETME for plinkin but it just aint a 91.
Hmmm... with some $$$ optics on a 91... how can y ou go wrong? -BUCC_Guy (The Acc. Int. arctic is DAMN sexy tho!) |
Since I was little I always wanted an 1896 Mauser Red 9 with shoulder stock and detachable mag.
*Sigh*
I wish I could have a gas piston M-16A4 chambered in 6.8 SPC with a specially calibrated chevron BAC Trijicon TA31F, an M5 RAS and a KAC vertical foregrip. I wish I could have the M-82A1 without the muzzle break ( less dust for the spotter to deal with ), a Leupold M1 16X40mm. I wish I could have an exact remake of the heavy barreled Winchester 70 that Hathcock used in Vietnam, with the same 8 power Unertl 833 scope. But all these, currently, are WAY beyond my budget here. Life has a way of teasing everybody. |
M82A1... But I'd settle for the M99.
It won't be any time soon, but maybe within the next 3-5 years. I know, sooner the better. The Accuracy Int. rifle would be great too. |
Blackjack...You REALLY don't want an M82A1 WITHOUT the muzzle brake. We're talking bone breaking recoil. After one shot you wouldn't have to worry about dust!!! Take the brake!
Called "trounds." (A funky gun with a funky name ought to have a name for its funky ammunition.) |

I've been quite fortunate in that I've been able to get a lot of the guns I've always wanted. However, still on my list is an M2HB.
sweeeet!!! Always wanted one of those, myself!!! |
HK G11 with caseless ammo that worked well. Or we could go all the way and get one of those 10mm caseless rifles from the Space Marines in "Aliens". Since I'm low on funds right now I'll settle for a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun with the compass in the stock.
Eh... BONE breaking? Can't be as bad as a bolt action 50... Then again, we are talking about a .50..... Point well-recieved. So, eh, what about that Winchester? |
Shop around for a Winchester Model 70 Target, around 1970s model . They came with a heavy barrel, target stock and have been seen for couple hundred $$$. They shoot well, but are not in the "controled feed" category. If you can master this, then you'd be just as good as Carlos with his Model 70. Its not really the gun, its the guy behind the sights. Look what Hathcock could do with a Weaver scope jury rigged to a Ma Duce. Original 50BMG Sniper. My 70 Target with 20X Untrel could lay 5 Lake City Match into one tight five leaf clover.
Wasn't that one designated the MP10? I'd be down for one of those... or an MP5 But my holy grail would be a G43 with the original optics and mount. |

FNC1
Former arm of the Cdn. armed forces.... A real battle rifle. If you ran outta ammo you could beat a man to death with it.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/Girlieman/sa58stnd.jpg Was replaced with this... Built at Diemco in Ont. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/Girlieman/c7.jpg Of course there are few permitted to aquire or own the FN as it is a granfathered prohibited firearm..'Gotta love those Canadian gun laws!hinking.gif |
An AR15.... damn all of you!! I'm so jelous!! All I want is ONE friggin AR... I hate Kalifornia sooo much. That being said, I'd really like a MG42 and a CMP M1 Garand.
Probably a HK93. I don't think they are better than ARs, but I still love their looks and they are a great rifle. I was a teen in the eighties and my cousin had a 93 that I just lusted over. I got a SP1 instead. He also had a 91 and was the first person I knew that had and AK. Anyway, a reasonbly priced 93 would be the shit.
I lusted after an M16 for eighteen years, and finally realized my dream with the purchase of one last year.
I just wish that I'd gotten it eighteen years earlier. Just think of all the money I could have saved by buying one when they were cheap instead of the current $10K+. Then again, think of how much I'd have spent on ammo over the last 18 years if I'd bought it then. Maybe it's better that I waited until now... |
I've seen a few, but the stocks used in Vietnam had a really low, slanted comb. I've seen ONE to date with a heavy barrel and stock... Oddly enough it was labeled 'Prop of US Govt'. Makes you wonder. What do you mean by, 'not in the controlled feed category'? I'm pretty sure those Winchesters did have a controlled feed action, because the push-feed models were introduced many years later. As for the next statement, I don't think I'm as good as Hathcock. Yes, I've gone squirrel hunting, stalked groundhogs, etc... But that man had a TALENT for what he did. I don't think I can match his groups - yet. Give me some formal training and I'll see what Ican do. You have a photo of that Winchester? |
Pre-64 Winchesters 70's were controlled feed. My target is less preferred push feed. I have no pictures to post (being computer illiterate), but it presently sits in one of Piasters Choate sniper stocks. The original wood was strictly a target style. Keep talking about it and I'll be pressed to take it out to the range and see what the years have done to it...and me.

Dream HK 53. Call it a .223 MP5
Reality: In September, day 1 after the ban sunsets, I will have 2 lowers on order and will begin building my CAR. Should have it done with a trijicon on top by December. |
So, what kind of groups did you shoot with it? Did you like the crisp trigger pull, the smell of a walnut stock and leather sling? ( Sure would love to see a range report! ) |
A Full Auto M60, a Colt LMG older style. A Polytech with a folding spike bayonet.
If anyone wants to give one of them to me I`ll except semi auto verisons too! |
