There are always "if you could only have one gun" or "what is the best gun" threads.  I figured I would start something a little different. Daydreaming the other day about my firearm collection and things I want to do to it I had to limit myself, as it got way to long.  So here is the question, if you could only have ten guns, money is an object but not a serious one (I could never afford and MP5 for example) what would they be? Starting from scratch what order would you buy them in, say one a month...

Mine...

1) 20 inch Colt AR HBar, flat top with ACOG, CavArms green furnishings, foregrip
    Reasons* this would be my primary defensive, SHTF weapon and would be my "most plinked"

2) Kimber Custom .45
    * primary defense and field pistol as well as home defense, and because I want to get into
        three gun matches

3) Remington 870 magnum, ghost rings 18.5 inch, syn factory stocks, side saddle and top-fold
    stock
    *home defense and three gun

4) Ruger 10/22 "stock"
    *this was my first gun, have loved it since I was 12

5) CZ 75B compact w/surefire
    *replaces kimber as primary home defense because the wife could shoot it better (this is
       actually on my "to get" list)

6)  AK probably a straight SAR 1
    *back up SHTF and fun plinking

7) Remington 700 tactical in .308 with leopold scope
    *distance piece, hunting

8) Ruger MKII
    *Bug out hunting plinking, teaching others to shoot pistols

9) CavArms 16 inch flattop with eotech
   *for three gun

10) Match Grade M 1 Garand
     *my favorite piece of history

A ten gun list, I like it.

If I was starting all over again this would be the ten I would get to start a collection.

1) DSA 58 Carbine, with a Trjicon 3X9 or Leupold 3X9
*Reasons would be for deer hunting, and some plinking.

2)Benelli Super Black Eagle, with four shot tube extension
*This is what I use for hunting and sporting clays now, and I love it

3)Ruger 10/22 with or with out a scope
*You can always use a .22 and the Ruger will take 50 round mags

4)Glock 19 with 33 round mags
*For me the Glock shoots great, not too spendy and will take 33 round mags

5)AR-15 of some type. Colt of DPMS would be nice, but any well made AR15 will do.
*I would use a AR15 for plinking, and with a nice scope I would use it for varmit hunting

6)Ruger MKII .22
*Great for plinking, and training and they are fun

7)Remington 700 .308
*Everyone needs a bolt action for hunting.

8)HK USP .45
*This would be for the range, and matches

9)AK or MAK-90
*The guns is cheap and is fun to shoot

10)M1 Garand
* it is piece of history and it is fun to shoot.

There is my 10 gun list, if I had to start my collection over. All of the gun listed are still part of my collection. Here is my 10 gun list that I can not live with out.

1)HK91-for deer hunting
2)HK93-for collecting,plinking, and defense
3)HK94-for collection,plinking
4)Benelli SBE-for the reasons listed
5)Colt HBAR-plinking, varmits
6)HKP7M8-collecting, if there was a carry law in WI it would be a carry gun
7)Steyr AUG-collecting, plink, for fun
8)SteyrSBS Tactical.308-long range shooting, and hunting
9)DSA 58-hunting
10)Kimber84C.223-great looking single shot,varmit shooting

Ok, I'll play....

1>  Kimber Eclipse 5" .45.  Plate shoots, 3-gun, whatever;

2>  Kimber 3" .45.  Carry piece;

3>  16" AR15 w/light,  it's tactical, baby;

4>  20" NM CMP AR.  competition shooting

5>  Mossy 500 Persuader 12 ga.  Home defense;

6>  SKB 12 ga O/U.  Skeet;

7>  FN Special Police Rifle, .308.  When you wanna reach out and touch someone;

8>  Ruger 10/22.  A must have, of course;

9>  Ruger MKII.  Everyone needs a .22 pistol;

10>Tokarev SVT-40.  Hey, I gotta be different.

Fortunately, I have most of that list, so I'm doing pretty good.  Hmmm, then why do I have a SAR-1 and a SAR-2 on the way?  Awww hell, can we make it 12?  Or maybe 13 so I can add an HK Tactical?

I don't have much of anything that is exactly the same as my list.  A couple of things do double duty, My 16" Bushy for example.  It's interesting to see what people would get, tells a lot about you.  I'm suprised more folks haven't responded.

Ok, just off the top of my head:

1.   AR15, CQB setup
2.   AR15, SPR setup
3.   LTR .308
4.   10/22
5.   BHP 9mm
6.   1911 .45 either fullsize or commander
7.   S&W .357 either 66 or 686
8.   Ruger 22/45
9.   .22 revolver (probably an S&W 617)
10. .308 battlerifle (FAL,AR10,M1A…)

Hmmm, I guess I need to replace one of those with a compact CCW
and maybe another with a deep cover backup….

Maybe just one AR15 lower with two uppers?

And which gun gives up it's place on the list for an 870 or a 500?

Maybe just one .22 handgun?

As usual when we play this game, 10 is not enough….
