Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Replace charging handle on Rem 1100?

Is this much of a job?  I know 1911s and AR15s inside and out, but never fully disassembled a 1100.  I do not want to end up at the 'smith with a box of parts and a dumb look on my face.  
Any advice or links would be appreciated.  Thanks!

No disassembly required, grab it and pull straight out.
Unbelievably simple, it's surprising the thing doesn't fall out on its own.

You may have to jiggle the bolt back and forwards a bit by tugging on the gas piston, but otherwise it just pulls straight out.

Got it.  I too, have to wonder how it stays in place.  Anyway, the refinished bbl came back and now I have an evil black shotgun in the safe keeping the evil black rifles company.
