For what very little this is worth, those BARs have seemed kind of heavy. I like them, but have not owned them and I know a few people that have dumped them for claims of lack of accuracy-but that's a "the farmer down the road from my buddy" type thing so what's that worth?

Browning's website seems to indicate their are Safari models with steel receivers and lightweights with aluminum receivers (aluminum with 308 that can't possibly work, lol ) Looks like the lightweight wood is the one I would go with.

The new ones also have a goofy hinged floorplate so you can't slip and evil hi-cap mag in and go on a shooting spree with your .270 The floorplate slips down and you put the mag on the floorplate and then snap it back in. Even EdSr's Browning bolt action slug gun has one of these contraptions!
