This is from a gun collection (part of an estate) with which I am helping a friend.  Basically, I am trying to establish a fair market value / asking price for each item.  That whole story is in another thread, if you are interested:

I don't know much about old shotguns, and there is very little information on this particular model in the Blue Book.  This shotgun is decribed by the owner's family as:

12 Gauge Shotgun, Single Shot, Fulton Arms Company, Choke Bored, No Serial #

My most current copy of the Blue Book indicates that the Fulton Arms shotguns were "value line" alternatives to the L.C. Smith shotguns also manufactured by Hunter Arms Co. and that values run in the $100-300 range.  As you can see from the pictures below, this one is pretty rough compared to the other items in this collection.  I suspect that I would be lucky to get $100 for it, but it may have some collector value/interest of which I am unaware.  I would appreciate any advice on how to evaluate/price this firearm fairly.  I would prefer to avoid the hassle and expense of having these firearms professionally appraised, but I would like to be in the right ballpark when I establish a value.

Right now I am thinking $100 for this shotgun - does that seem fair?
