I just put on layaway a nice little masterpiece arms MAC11/9 semi-auto pistol. The reason I purchased this weapon is mostly for plinking and as a cheap rip off peice to add to my collection. I am now toying with the idea of declaring it an AOW. I understand that AOWs are not considered assault weapons, so preban-postban rules and limitations do not apply as they are not classified as "assault weapons".

From my understanding the AOW is distinguished by having no stock, and also having a front pistol grip. If the receiver must be registered as AOW before being assembled, this is no problem... as old leinad recs start at $39.

Is a postban MAC11 (or 10) an acceptable platform for AOW submission?
Is their anywhere else I can read up on more information in regards to legality of AOWs?

I have chosen the mac-11 as an potential AOW over something like an AR15, as a stockless forgripped AR would be blashpemy in my eyes.

So what do you guys think?

Yes you can do this. Right now Vector Arms is doing this with postban Uzis so they can suppress them.
