[ARCHIVED THREAD] - small low priced .22 pistols?

Any recommendations, pictures. Don't seem to see them for sale at gun shows.

Phoenix Arms makes a S/S.22lr cal semi-auto that also has a target barrel available. You can get the "kit" which includes the target barrel and an extra mag for around $135.00 NIB. I have had one since they first came out. It will feed anything I load into it. It also has several different safety features. In my opinion...it is the best for the buck.

I should have said I'm interested in a .22 revolver. Not too light like the titanium models. They bite. Not too large. Something on the order of a S&W kit gun.

Anyone familiar with taurus and other low cost .22 revolvers and prices?

This is why no one should own a Phoenix Arms HP22. This happend in less than 1K rounds.

Notice the deep groove cut by the hammer into the bottom of the slide. I can't get one round to chamber fully. Pure junk...leave these for the street thugs.

Taurus & Ruger both make a .22 revolver. You should be able to find one used via Gun List. Also check KY Imports web site, they sell a lot of used guns.

Taurus makes a nice 9 shot 22 revolver
Browning Buckmarks, Ruger Automatics

There are lots out there, keep looking

About the best small one I have is the Walther P22 which I got for $199 w/ 3" Barrel.

The Taurus 9 shot revolver is a good gun. I have one in stainless and am quite pleased with it.
I had a problem with the rear sight, sent it off to the factory and within a couple of weeks I had it back and have not had a single problem since.
I would recommend it.
On the other hand the Ramline Exactor, now extinct, was a fun pistol but quirky as hell. Still have one but it doesn't get fired much.

I second the H&R 9 shot revolvers. Short barrel models can be found and I even remember in the early eighties, some nickel-plated models being made. HKS even makes speed loaders for them.

I don't think the Taurus .22s are snubbies, I think they're 4" models. Cost seems to be in the upper $200s, lower $300s for a NIB model.

You could always check out Taurus' web site too.
