What Syd is saying is this:  You can take a mag from firearm "A" and modify it, or firearm "B", so it will fit firearm "B".  HOWEVER, the mag MUST still work in firearm "A".

Now, there exists a bullpup stock for the Mini, BUT, IIRC, since the mag well is neccessarily located to the rear, and closer to the shooter's arm/chest, a bulky mag like a drum mag might not be a good fit.

Interesting idea, but a mock-up of wood or somesuch will tell if the comcept is do-able.

My guess, repeat, guess, is no.  I could be wrong.

If there was an easy, legal way to modify an AK mag to fit the Mini-30, I think we'd have heard of it by now.

But don't let my ignorance stop you from experimenting.  Just don't unknowingly violate the law.

If you file off the nubs, and modify the AK mag so it no longer works in the AK but does work in the Mini, you have manufactured an illegal magazine, and are an instant felon.
Now, I doubt you'll be on the Ten Most Wanted list, but if the authorities ever have cause to examine your stuff, you could be in trouble.
At any rate, it's not something I'd be flashing at the range.

Yes, I hate the mag ban as much as anyone. Unfortunately, it's still the law, at least for now.
