I've got a nice Aimpoint M2 on the way and nowhere to put it.  I've got one 308, but I need another one.

I've got 3 AR's that are all set with optics and gadgets.  A3 carbine, 20" gov't A2, and a Varminter.

I've also got a shweeeeet DSA STG-58 rifle.

I'm thinking either...

Another AR15

M1A...loaded...although the bush model looks great for mounting an Aimpoint.

AR10a4 cause it looks fun

Or maybe I should just spend my cash on a snowblower.

IS the AR10 problematic?  Seems to be a 50% split on this board regarding their popularity...

Why is that?  No one here wants the AR15's big brother?

I say go with the AR-10.

Mags are expensive though...

yeah I'd just scoop up a few over the year and call it good.

You need to try an AR-10 flattop with a Holosite...

Schwwwing!

I was thinking an Aimpoint on a AR10a4 rifle.  I think the carbine looks cheated somehow...looks wierd having the stock almost as long as the barrel assembly!

Just me I guess!

The M1A bush rifle looks good, but for some reason I just have a hard time picturing an M1A without a kick ass scope and a full length barrel.

Yes the A4 with optics looks fairly evil.

It's not too late to get in on the 2003 SEBR AR-10.

You won't find a better deal on an AR-10.

I have a AR10A4 that I traded a Benelli SBE for at the funshow last year.

I love the AR10 - it is more accurate than I can shoot it.  Everyone thinks it is just a regular old AR15 until I start shooting and they feel the pressure wave from the blast.  Then it's like, "Hey, whats that your shooting?"

I could get rid of most of my other guns, but the AR10 is staying.

I would, believe me I would...

But I don't like green furniture.  It's not natural.

Alas, I must pass on the SEBR...I was waiting YEARS for an AR10 group buy too!  By the time I switched out the furniture the cost savings wouldn't be there.

Maybe I should just stick with the M1A.

Funny thing is that this is all centered around me having an extra Aimpoint or EoTech sitting around with nothing to sit on.

Even if it's a break-even deal, you still have a one-of-a-kind rifle.

If you change your mind, I'll buy the green furniture for spares.

HA, that's happened to me a couple times too. I sit down, set up - the guy beside me thinks its an AR15 - until that first BOOM

Hokie,
If you can do it somehow, the SEBR is the ticket.
Furniture can be changed like cheap underwear.
Then again, there's always black paint!
Like the Godfather used to say --- "DO IT."

Yeah I know Busman, but I gotta tell ya the stainless barrel doesn't sit well with me either.

All my stuff is black, always has been, outside of a wild Bowflage illness I had once.  Just can't bring myself to buy anything for the safe that isn't black!

Yep - kind of an ear opening experience that first BOOOOM !!  I'm always surprised at the number of people that don't know about the AR-10.

I had an AR-10A4 and loved it. The muzzleblast wasn't too terrible for the shooter, but look out if your standing a few feet to the side of the triggerman when that muzzlebrake diverts the blast.

Hey just get an Eagle lower (black) and a Armalite A4 upper! If I had to do it allover again this would be the way I'd go! You'll save a few $.

What about a DPMS 308?  At about 1k it is a bargain.

The draw backs about the DPMS are it's weight and the mags. People bitch about paying $30 for AR-10 converts! Anyway you can get an Eagle A4 for that much and for $200 more (I think) you can go with an Eagle "T"!

What is wrong with you people?

Why are you buying optics with nothing to put them on?

I can't even bring myself to buy an Aimpoint or ACOG for even one of my AR's.  There are too many other things on my priority list to buy an optic that will sit in the safe for months on end.

Saw a post in the EE by "Bandit" (I think) who is a DPMS dealer.  Any way, the Bandit says he has about $3200 in his DPMS .308 and claims it now shoots fine.  Struck me as a little odd that he would put that much money in the DPMS - especially as he is also a KAC dealer and sells the SR-25.  But to each his own.

I agree with the posters above who advocate the ArmaLite/Eagle for a very few dollars more.

never pass up a good deal when you see one.

I'll 'find' something to put the optic on!

Yeah, I can see that... problem is that I seem to run across more good deals on guns than I ever do on optics.  Last month there was the XD-40 for $339, and you know I couldn't let that get by.  But I have yet to see a good deal on an Aimpoint or other "good" sight.

one option I was considering was selling my EoTech now that I've got an Aimpoint.

Just keep checking the EE, you'll find something good.  IMO the EE is by far the BEST place to find good deals on AR15 shtuff anywhere on the net.
