Well, that kind of begs the question, "what kind of shooting bag do you want?"
I like the Dillon blue range bag, mainly because it's not black inside. Putting a black liner in range bags seems to be a common affliction, and it makes it damn difficult to find what you're looking for if there is not plenty of light shining down into the bag. Also Dillon makes good stuff. It's about $70 but it's money well spent on a range bag. www.dillonprecision.com Seems like any time something gets branded a "range bag" that seems like a license to double the price of it. Remember the Dillon bag is also guaranteed for life...I abuse the hell out of mine...and they have replaced it twice in the last 10 years...

I use a Bucketboss tool bag from Home Depot, lotsa pockets inside and out, and it doesn't LOOK like a shooting bag.

I was impressed this weekend, because the major chains stock this stuff now @ a decent price, out of season add 30/50%. I got a rip/stop weaved type lite weight nylon one @ 12bucks at a local sporting goods store. I was really suprised!!
 ...I guess they now have to compete.www.bagmaster.com<--I'm not knocking them but they got them a little out of what i'd consider "my range" for a bag. BUT they sure is sweet!

Same question I had. For the former, I had my wife make a nice "sandbag pillow" out of a little Realtree fabric and some kind of beans. For the latter, I have a big BucketBoss "Pro Super GateMouth" bag from the hardware store that is just awesome. |

I use a black Galati range bag similar to the Galls for the pistol range, and I use a Bucket Boss Gatemouth bag for the rifle range, and I use a USGI mechanics tool bag to carry shotgun shells.

I use tool bags from Sears. They usually say craftsman on the side so they look I'm just toting my drill and hammer around in my truck. I have a brown one that was about $10 and a black one that is twice as bif for about $20.

I just picked up a leather bag w/ 18X6X6 main compartment, side compartments and 3X6X6 end compartments, for $3.50 at a second hand store.

What are those bags that you use as a rest when shooting prone called? They look similar to a back pack with a place to rest your rifle on the back of them? Are they more steady than shooting prone from a Bipod?
