Everybody hates chasing brass, especially if it's specially re-worked cases.

So, I need a brass-catcher for the AR.

It has to fit both a standard upper with carry-handle, and a flattop upper, which may or may not have the carry handle attached.

I use one that wraps around the front hand guard. Works 100% and it's cheap, got it from Brownells, here's a link

Yep, I've been using it on weapons other then the ar15 and it works great on those as well.

have the same one as bullet and no complaints. Just have to remember to pack it when i go to the range

i have the hard plastic one from bushy. It works well but is a pain if you have a scope on the carry handle.

I run the strap on type from DPMS.

My only bitch is that I wish the bag was twice/three times the size and had a top flap suport to hole the bag above the ejection port for a few inches. Every once is a while the bag will fill up and the weight will pull down on the top and cause a case to be spit back into the action and jam the rifle( not so much a problem on AR's, but can be a bitch on FAL's and HK's.

I bought one at the BRC from Triple Bucc (I believe the name was) and really like it.

Looks like a good home project. Seems simple to make. A lot easier than the handguard removal tool.
